CMS appoints Dr. Sven-Michael Werner as partner to expand China practice

Dr. Werner brings 25 years of experience practising law in China and has been based in Shanghai since 2008. He joins CMS from Bird & Bird LLP Shanghai and will serve as a partner. His practice focuses on Corporate and M&A, commercial, and general compliance matters. He has advised European and US clients on their investments and operations in China and has supported Chinese companies with outbound investments.
CMS described the appointment as aligned with its strategy of supporting clients with local expertise and international reach and said it demonstrates the firm’s ongoing commitment to the Chinese market.
