Perez is a specialist in Brazilian Central Bank and National Monetary Council regulations and will focus on regulatory matters, combining his legal expertise with experience in financial and payment institutions. His arrival is intended to bolster Mattos Filho’s internationally recognized Banking & Finance practice. With Perez’s appointment, the firm’s partner count stands at 141.
Fábio Perez holds a law degree from São Paulo’s Pontifical Catholic University and a postgraduate degree in Financial and Capital Markets Law from Insper. His expertise includes authorization procedures with the Brazilian Central Bank—such as the incorporation of regulated institutions, changes in ownership and corporate reorganizations—as well as work on M&A transactions and securities offerings, structuring financial products, foreign exchange and international capital regulations. He also participates in domestic and cross-border financing transactions, including bilateral and syndicated financing, trade finance, debt restructurings and international bond issuances.
