CMS expands China practice with partner hire Dr Sven-Michael Werner
"CMS hires Dr Sven-Michael Werner as partner in its China practice; he will work in Corporate and M&A, commercial and general compliance from the firm's Shanghai office."
Dr Werner brings 25 years of experience practising law in China and has been based in Shanghai since 2008. His practice focuses on Corporate and M&A, commercial, and general compliance matters. He has advised European and US clients on their investments and operations in China and has supported Chinese companies with outbound investments. He joins CMS from Bird & Bird LLP Shanghai and takes up the role of partner.
Dr Ulrike Glueck, Chief Representative and Managing Partner of CMS China Shanghai Office, said Dr Werner’s extensive experience aligns with the firm’s strategy of supporting clients with local expertise and international reach. The appointment also underlines CMS’s ongoing commitment to the Chinese market.
