Roberto Romito brings consolidated experience in international and EU taxation and is specialized in cross‑border financial transactions (outbound and inbound). For many years he has supported foreign companies and institutional investors operating in the Italian market, providing assistance in the recovery of taxes erroneously suffered in Italy. That refund activity is conducted in compliance with national legislation, double tax conventions, EU directives and the case law of the Court of Justice of the EU, and is pursued through interlocutions with the competent tax authorities up to any contentious phase. In his prior professional experience Romito worked at leading national and international law and tax firms, assisting national and multinational groups on corporate taxation and extraordinary transactions, and he also gained a two‑year experience abroad within a structure belonging to a global network dealing with EU tax matters and the impact of ECJ rulings on Member States’ tax regimes. He joins LawaL from Plusiders.
Elena Mastromauro joins LawaL as an avvocato cassazionista with more than twenty years of experience in the tax field and specific expertise in tax litigation developed mainly in international firms. Her areas of specialization include assistance on refund claims filed by foreign entities and pending at the Centro Operativo di Pescara, and the management of recovery of undue taxes (direct taxes and VAT) in both pre‑litigation and litigation phases. She also joins LawaL from Plusiders.
