Alfred joins Goodwin as Counsel, bringing over two decades of experience and deep expertise in the defense contracting sector, government procurement, regulatory compliance and national security-related programs.
Prior to joining Goodwin, she served in senior legal roles within the federal government, most notably as General Counsel of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, where she was the primary legal advisor to agency leadership and advised on matters supporting DARPA’s R&D mission, including procurement, fiscal compliance, ethics, personnel matters and intellectual property.
Earlier in her career, Alfred held legal positions across the Department of Defense, including roles within the U.S. Department of the Navy and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, advising on contracting, operational and compliance matters related to government programs. Throughout her career she has also advised on acquisition strategy, regulatory compliance and mission-driven programs.
