The promotion recognises his strong track record, technical depth and leadership within the firm’s Projects and Infrastructure practice. Since joining CMS Mexico in 2020, he has played a key role in advancing the firm’s capabilities in infrastructure, energy and project finance and in supporting clients throughout the full lifecycle of their investments.
José Antonio specialises in project development, finance and regulatory matters, with a particular focus on highly regulated industries including infrastructure, power generation and oil & gas. He advises public entities, project sponsors, developers and financial institutions on the structuring, procurement, financing and development of large-scale, strategic projects across multiple sectors.
His recent work includes projects such as Tren Maya, Chalco Santa Martha Trolleybus, the Escolín fertilizer plant, Parque Aztlán and the Los Cabos Desalination Plant. He has worked closely with clients including Mota Engil, Grupo Indi and Aleática, as well as a broad range of local and international banking institutions, supporting both sponsors and lenders in complex project finance and infrastructure transactions.
