Bird & Bird hires partner Lucia He to strengthen PRC Corporate team in Shenzhen

Lucia joins Bird & Bird from A&O Shearman and specialises in cross-border M&A. She is a market-recognised China outbound expert advising clients in Energy & Utilities, Tech & Comms, advanced manufacturing, automotive (including electric vehicles) and Retail & Consumer sectors. Lucia is noted for her work on complex, multi-jurisdictional M&A, joint ventures and strategic commercial matters, and was named Lawyer of the Year - Projects and Energy (Foreign Firms) by the Legal 500 China Awards 2025.
She brings more than 15 years of experience, including eight years working in Europe for international law firms and a period with a Shenzhen-based multinational telecoms company. Lucia is qualified in England & Wales and New York, and holds both common law and PRC law background and qualifications.
Her appointment expands Bird & Bird’s presence in China’s Greater Bay Area (GBA) and complements the firm’s existing team in the region, including partners David Cheng, James Fong, John Shi and Sarah Zeng.
