Dentons appoints Cedric Degreef as Partner and Head of the Energy group in Brussels

Cedric Degreef brings more than a decade’s experience advising investors, banks, project developers and operators on the planning, construction, financing and transactional aspects of energy, utilities and infrastructure projects. He focuses on energy and climate law, environmental law, general administrative law, construction law, and on risk management and compliance. He is also an experienced litigator, representing clients primarily before administrative courts such as the Council of State, the Council for Permit Disputes, and the Belgian Constitutional Court. He is ranked as “Up and Coming” for Energy by Chambers Europe, is a prolific author and speaker, and serves as a guest professor at the University of Antwerp in energy and climate law.
He joins Dentons from Osborne Clarke, where he was Counsel and Head of the Energy and Projects team in Brussels. He will lead Dentons’ Energy group in Brussels. Dentons’ global Energy group comprises more than 1,000 lawyers worldwide, including over 150 in Europe. The firm said Degreef’s recruitment is part of its strategic expansion in Belgium; over the past year Dentons has also hired partners Jens Debievre (Public Law and Regulatory), Joris de Vos (Restructuring), Tom Geudens (Banking and Finance), and Erwin Simons (Corporate and M&A).
