DLA Piper appoints tax partner Philipp Stanek in Vienna
"DLA Piper in Vienna hires tax partner Philipp Stanek to strengthen its tax practice, focusing on international and M&A-related tax, transactions and corporate restructurings."
Stanek joins from Baker McKenzie Austria, where he served as Head of Tax. He has built a strong practice providing high-value, specialised international tax advice focused on M&A, transactions and corporate restructurings. He regularly advises multinational and domestic corporations on cross-border deal structuring, debt and equity financing structures and tax due diligences. His service portfolio includes M&A-related tax work, international tax work, domestic corporate tax advice, tax due diligence and tax litigation. Prior to joining Baker McKenzie in 2016, he worked at EY for many years. He is a fully qualified lawyer and also a tax advisor, bringing broad expertise across corporate and international taxes as well as indirect taxes.
Jacques Wantz, Global Co-Chair of DLA Piper's Tax practice, said Stanek's appointment is part of the firm's strategic initiative to build a comprehensive Austrian tax practice fully integrated into the global DLA Piper network and highlighted his entrepreneurial mindset, technical expertise and international experience.
