Debevoise & Plimpton Names Seven New Counsel

"Debevoise & Plimpton LLP promotes seven lawyers to counsel across its investment management, finance, litigation and tax practices."

Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has named Julia Ahn, Emily Austin, Daniel Hoborough, Anna Moore, Veronika Polakova, Rachel Stables and Heng (David) Wan counsel, effective January 1.

Julia Ahn has been promoted to counsel in the firm’s Investment Management Group and is based in Paris. Her practice focuses on advising sponsors of private equity funds, co-investment vehicles and separately managed accounts across sectors and strategies, including buyout, credit and infrastructure funds.

Emily Austin has been promoted to counsel in the Litigation Department and is based in Hong Kong. Her practice focuses on contentious regulatory matters, investigations and a range of complex commercial litigation for financial services, corporate and private clients. She is admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong, the State of Victoria, Australia, and the Federal Courts and High Court of Australia.

Daniel Hoborough has been promoted to counsel in the Finance Group and is based in London. He advises borrowers, lenders, sponsors and financial institutions on a wide range of financings, with a particular focus on fund finance transactions.

Anna Moore has been promoted to counsel in the Finance Group and is based in London. Her practice focuses on advising borrowers, sponsors and lenders across a broad range of financing transactions, with a particular emphasis on fund finance transactions across various asset classes.

Veronika Polakova has been promoted to counsel in the Tax Department and is based in London. Her practice focuses on U.S. tax aspects of the establishment and operation of investment funds across strategies including private equity, debt, secondaries and venture capital, and on private equity transactions, carry planning and co-investment arrangements.

Rachel Stables has been promoted to counsel in the Investment Management Group and is based in London. She advises sponsors of private investment funds, co-investment vehicles and separately managed accounts across sectors and strategies, including buyout, emerging markets and credit funds, on fund formation and ongoing operational matters.

Heng (David) Wan has been promoted to counsel in the Investment Management Group and is based in Hong Kong. His practice focuses on private fund formation, co-investment and carried interest arrangements, GP-led secondaries including continuation fund transactions, and select investor-side representations. He is admitted to practice in Hong Kong and New York.
