Simmons & Simmons appoints public M&A specialist Mark Chivers as partner
"Simmons & Simmons hires Mark Chivers as partner in London to strengthen its public M&A and UK Takeover Code expertise; he will also advise on private M&A across healthcare, energy, infrastructure and TMT."
Chivers joins from DLA Piper and brings over 20 years’ experience advising on both public and private M&A transactions. A specialist in public M&A, he is a widely recognised expert in the UK Takeover Code, having served as Assistant Secretary to the UK Takeover Panel from 2013 to 2015 and currently serving as Secretary to the Takeover Appeal Board.
His practice also encompasses private M&A, where he regularly advises large multinationals on acquisitions and disposals in the Healthcare & Life Sciences; Energy, Natural Resources, Infrastructure & Construction; and Technology, Media and Telecommunications sectors. Simmons & Simmons said Chivers’s expertise will enable the firm to provide full-service support to listed company clients, assist financial institutions on public takeovers, and enhance its offering for asset management and investment funds and private equity clients requiring UK Takeover Code advice.
