Burns, profiled by Legal Business, brings longstanding sector experience in energy and infrastructure M&A. He first entered the profession at Allen & Overy in 2002, where he met Ben Higson; the two have maintained a decades-long professional connection. Burns said the firm’s collegiate culture was a major factor in his decision to join Vinson & Elkins.
Ben Higson, head of Vinson & Elkins’ London Transactions practice, has worked closely with Burns since their first meeting in 2002. Higson highlighted the firm’s transatlantic platform and said that, together with Burns, the team will focus on where clients are headed across energy and infrastructure.
