Isidoro Niola appointed legal director at DePuy Synthes for Italy and Spain

Niola joins DePuy Synthes from Johnson & Johnson MedTech, where he spent more than 11 years. He joined Johnson & Johnson in February 2015 as senior legal counsel and was appointed legal director Italy of Johnson & Johnson Medical Italia in July 2020. Within the group he subsequently held a number of legal leadership roles, including Mentor Franchise EMEA lead lawyer and country lawyer for Ethicon and DePuy Synthes.
Before moving in-house, Niola spent more than nine years at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer as part of the firm’s Antitrust, Competition and Trade practice. His work focused on competition law and regulatory matters, with particular experience in the energy sector. He also completed a traineeship at Italy’s Competition and Market Authority (Autorità Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato).
