Debra M. Sinclair Returns to Weil, Gotshal & Manges as Partner in U.S. Restructuring

Sinclair began her legal career at Weil in 2013 and has built a leading company-side practice advising businesses through consequential restructurings. She has led high-profile debtor-side matters, most recently leading the all-women core team that guided Saks Global Holdings LLC through a complex Chapter 11 case, and she has played leading roles representing NanoString Technologies and Hello Bello in their Chapter 11 cases. She is joining Weil as a partner.
Sinclair rejoins Weil from another AmLaw 50 firm, where she served as U.S. Co-Chair of that firm’s Strategic Capital and Restructuring Department and as Chair of its Company Restructuring & Reorganization practice.
Her return is the seventh former Weil lawyer to rejoin the firm this year and the 22nd since the beginning of 2023. Sinclair has been recognized in the restructuring field by the American Bankruptcy Institute (40 Under 40), Law360 (Rising Star), Turnarounds & Workouts (Outstanding Young Restructuring Lawyer) and Crain’s New York Business (2026 Notable Leaders). She has also received pro bono honors from The Legal Aid Society and Immigration Equality.
