Ecija strengthens tax practice with partner hire María Cortizas

Cortizas brings more than 20 years of experience in tax advisory, specialising in the planning and structuring of complex transactions, M&A deals, restructurings, capital markets and financing transactions in both domestic and international contexts. Throughout her career she has advised large corporations, financial institutions, private equity and real estate funds, as well as international investors, on a range of strategic transactions.
Prior to joining Ecija, she served as a partner at Dentons in Madrid, where she spent more than seven years advising clients on tax matters related to M&A transactions, restructurings, capital markets and financing operations. Before Dentons, Cortizas worked for over 12 years at Linklaters as a tax consultant, advising multinational corporations, financial institutions and investment funds on Spanish and international tax matters. She began her professional career at KPMG, where she spent more than 11 years and ultimately reached the position of Senior Manager.
