Crowell & Moring Adds Senior DOJ and FTC Antitrust Attorneys
"Crowell & Moring has hired Rebecca Valentine (partner, Washington) from the DOJ Antitrust Division and Ryan Harsch (senior counsel, New York) from the FTC to join its Antitrust and Competition Group, focusing on antitrust enforcement."
Rebecca Valentine joins Crowell & Moring as a partner in Washington, D.C., from the U.S. Justice Department Antitrust Division’s Defense, Industrials, and Aerospace (DIA) Section. During a decade at the DOJ, she reviewed major corporate mergers, developed antitrust frameworks to guide investigations from inception through deposition, and routinely coordinated with international and state enforcers. Valentine worked most extensively with federal government contractors in the defense, industrials, and aerospace sectors, and her representative matters have spanned sectors including health care and consumer packaged goods.
Ryan Harsch will join Crowell & Moring as senior counsel in New York from the Federal Trade Commission’s American Competition Enforcement Division and Northeast Regional Office. Since joining the FTC in 2015, he handled the full merger investigation process, led complex non‑merger investigations, and litigated merger challenges through trial and appeal as part of the Bureau of Competition. His practice focused on antitrust investigations and enforcement in industries spanning healthcare, technology platforms, and industrial and consumer products.
