Paul Hastings Bolsters International Arbitration with Hires in Paris and London
"Paul Hastings adds Anaïs Harlé and Opeyemi Longe to its international arbitration team in Paris and London; they will work on construction and energy disputes and on energy, infrastructure and financial services."
Anaïs Harlé joins Paul Hastings in Paris as of counsel. Her practice focuses on construction and energy disputes. Notable matters cited include advising French utility Engie in an Energy Charter Treaty claim against Hungary concerning gas tariffs; representing North Macedonia in an ICSID claim over the termination of a mining concession; and advising Georgia in coordinated SCC and ICSID claims related to electricity tariffs. Harlé was named co-chair of the French Arbitration Committee’s under-40 group. She forms part of the team moving from White & Case.
Opeyemi Longe joins Paul Hastings in London as of counsel. Dual-qualified in Nigeria and England & Wales, Longe has substantial experience in the energy, infrastructure, construction and financial services sectors. His recent work includes representing Nigeria in an investment treaty claim brought by a U.K.-based mining company, and advising sovereign states and private clients on the resolution of high-value, complex disputes across those sectors. Longe is also part of the team moving from White & Case.
The hires reunite the incoming lawyers with former White & Case colleagues at Paul Hastings, including Elizabeth Oger-Gross, Tolu Obamuroh and global co-chair of international arbitration Jonathan C. Hamilton, and add significant arbitration experience across Europe, Africa and Latin America. Members of the team, including Fernando Labombarda, bring marked experience in Argentina, Chile, Panama and Peru, reinforcing the firm’s dispute-resolution capabilities between Europe and Latin America.
