Jakarri Hamlin has joined global law firm Hogan Lovells Cadwalader as a Banking & Loan Finance partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office. He joins the firm from Mayer Brown.

Hamlin is entering Hogan Lovells Cadwalader as a partner. A legacy Cadwalader alumnus who began his career in the firm’s financial services practice, he advises financial institutions and asset managers across all asset classes on financings including NAV, hybrid and subscription facilities, structured and asset-backed financings, holdco loans, mezzanine loans, margin loans and other forms of back leverage. He also has substantial experience structuring and negotiating ISDA documentation and in prime brokerage, repurchase and other trading agreements. Hamlin began his career in structured finance and derivatives before shifting into fund finance.

Hamlin has been recognised as a 2026 “Banking & Finance Visionary” by Business by LA Times Studios. He earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law and his B.A. from Colgate University.
