Sullivan & Cromwell Strengthens Private Equity Practice with Four New M&A Partners
"Sullivan & Cromwell adds Hamed Meshki, Luke Guerra, Guirgis Nasief and Y. Michael Chung as partners to its private equity M&A practice in Los Angeles and New York, advising private equity sponsors, asset managers and portfolio companies."
Hamed Meshki will join S&C as a partner and will lead the firm’s global Private Equity Practice. He will also co-lead the Los Angeles office alongside Patrick Brown. Mr. Meshki advises private equity firms, asset managers and public and private companies on highly structured and complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, restructurings, recapitalizations and financings across industries such as consumer products, energy, healthcare, industrials, media and entertainment, software and technology, and transportation. He also advises boards of directors and senior private equity executives on strategic and corporate governance matters. Mr. Meshki has been recognized by Chambers USA (Band 1 for Private Equity: Buyouts in California), The Legal 500 U.S. and IFLR1000. He earned his J.D., with honors, from the University of Chicago Law School and his B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Luke Guerra joins S&C as a partner based in the Los Angeles office. Mr. Guerra advises private equity sponsors, strategic buyers and sellers, and portfolio companies on domestic and cross-border leveraged buyouts, public and private mergers and acquisitions, equity investments, joint ventures, restructurings and recapitalizations. His experience spans technology, financial services, media and entertainment, consumer products, healthcare, energy and industrials, and he has represented leading investment firms across the life cycle of their investments. Mr. Guerra has been recognized by Chambers USA for his work in California private equity and M&A and has repeatedly been named among the leading private equity advisers in Los Angeles. He earned his J.D. from Stanford Law School and his B.A. in Politics from Princeton University.
Guirgis Nasief joins S&C as a partner in the Los Angeles office. Mr. Nasief is an experienced corporate lawyer whose practice focuses on private equity and complex mergers and acquisitions. He advises leading private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies on acquisitions, dispositions and other significant investments. Mr. Nasief received his J.D. from Columbia Law School and his B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Y. Michael Chung joins S&C as a partner resident in the New York office. Mr. Chung is an experienced corporate lawyer focusing on private equity and complex mergers and acquisitions and represents private equity firms and public and private companies on a broad range of strategic transactions. He received his J.D. from Yale Law School and his A.B., summa cum laude, from Princeton University.
