Clyde & Co appoints David Phua as partner to strengthen Asia Pacific energy practice

David joins Clyde & Co as a partner from King & Wood Mallesons, where he served as Co-head of Energy and Infrastructure (ASEAN). His practice covers LNG and pipeline gas; renewable power project development and investment, including offshore wind, solar and geothermal; and mining and metals with an emphasis on critical minerals such as nickel and lithium. He advises state-owned enterprises, privately-owned energy companies, trading houses, utilities and investors on a range of contractual and advisory matters across Singapore, China and other Asian jurisdictions. His LNG and pipeline gas work encompasses long-term and spot sale contracts, terminal use agreements, storage and reload arrangements, truck loading and long-term charterparties, and he advises on both export and import projects, including structuring cross-border supply, transportation and infrastructure development. He graduated from the University of Cambridge and is bilingual in English and Chinese.
David will be an integral part of Clyde & Co’s regional energy, marine and trade practice, which comprises 12 partners and 35 lawyers across the Asia Pacific region.
