Baker McKenzie appoints Christoph Schimmer as Head of Tax for Austria

Schimmer joins Baker McKenzie with the seniority of Counsel and Head of Tax for Austria. He most recently worked for KPMG as an Attorney at Law from 2025 to 2026, was a Counsel at Cerha Hempel from 2022 to 2025, and served as an Associate and Senior Associate at DLA Piper from 2016 to 2022.
His practice focuses on tax. He brings experience in structuring cross-border and domestic investments and transactions and in tax advisory work, skills Baker McKenzie says will enhance its ability to integrate tax thinking early in the transaction process in Austria and beyond.
