Akin Gump Strengthens Middle East Investment Management Practice with Partners Andrea Dougall and Marie-Sophie Bandeira Vieira

Andrea Dougall joins Akin Gump in Abu Dhabi as a partner. She has been based in the region for more than 12 years and represents sovereign wealth funds, pension funds and other leading institutional investors on global fund investments. Her work covers investments in open- and closed-ended funds, separately managed accounts, co-investments, joint ventures and other bespoke investment structures and platforms across the alternative investment landscape. Dougall has grown her practice alongside many of the region’s most prominent investors and maintains long-standing client relationships across the Gulf Cooperation Council. She joins Akin from Morgan Lewis, where she was a partner in the investment management practice.
Marie-Sophie Bandeira Vieira joins Akin Gump in Dubai as a partner. She advises sponsors on the structuring, formation and operation of private investment funds across asset classes, guiding them through the full fund lifecycle from regulatory licensing and authorization through fund launch and ongoing compliance. She also advises sovereign wealth funds, pension funds and other institutional investors on private fund investments, co-investments, separately managed accounts and other bespoke investment platforms. Marie-Sophie joins Akin from White & Case, where she was a partner in the global investment funds group.
