Former Minnesota Solicitor General Liz Kramer Joins Dorsey & Whitney LLP as Commercial Litigation Partner in Minneapolis

Kramer is a nationally recognized appellate and constitutional attorney. Before joining Dorsey, she served two terms as Minnesota Solicitor General, leading the state's appellate and constitutional litigation and securing several landmark decisions, including successfully defending health and safety executive orders during the COVID-19 pandemic. She also led the Minnesota Supreme Court case that resolved a constitutional crisis arising from a tied Minnesota Legislature and built and led the Rule of Law division at the Attorney General’s Office, overseeing more than 70 cases challenging federal executive overreach.
Prior to her public service, Kramer represented clients in commercial litigation and construction disputes and spent 15 years at a Minneapolis law firm, where she developed deep experience in arbitration law. She joins Dorsey as a Partner in the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice. Kramer holds a J.D. from Yale Law School and a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College.
