Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP expands Central and Eastern Europe practice with addition of D’Ornano Partners in Budapest

François d’Ornano and his Budapest-based firm D’Ornano Partners are joining Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP. The Budapest office will operate under the name Curtis d’Ornano Európai Közösségi Jogászi Iroda (Curtis Budapest).

François d’Ornano joins Curtis Paris as a partner and will also head Curtis Budapest. He brings more than 25 years of experience in corporate/M&A and real estate, advising companies on investments in Central and Eastern Europe. He is admitted to the Paris bar (1998), is referenced by Chambers Global as a Foreign Expert in Hungary, and has been recognised for his expertise in Central and Eastern Europe and the wider region. His sector experience covers real estate, hospitality, telecommunications, agrifood, automotive and manufacturing. His clientele is mainly large French and multinational groups; recent matters include work for Orange in Romania, LDC in Hungary, and for Accor, Groupama and Servier across countries such as Hungary, Serbia, Croatia and Bulgaria.

He began his career at Gide, where he led the Budapest office and created and directed the Belgrade office. He founded D’Ornano Partners in 2018 and joins Curtis from that firm. In January 2026 he was appointed French Foreign Trade Advisor for the Hungary committee. He has taught at the University of Budapest in partnership with University Paris II Assas and speaks French, English and German.
