Fidal strengthens Paris office with partners Marie Trécan and Yannis Samothrakis

Marie Trécan, admitted to the Paris bar, joins Fidal’s Financing and Corporate Law team as a partner. She has more than twenty years of experience in the structuring, negotiation, implementation and restructuring of structured financings for banks, investment funds, investors and borrowers. Her work covers acquisition finance, project finance, real estate financing, bond financings and financial restructurings, and she also advises on acquisitions, disposals and equity investments. She holds a Certificat d’Aptitude à la Profession d’Avocat (CAPA), a DJCE (Diplôme de Juriste Conseil d’Entreprise), a DESS in business law and a certificate of specialization in tax law, and is a graduate of Université Panthéon‑Assas (Paris II) and the Université de Cergy‑Pontoise. She is recognised by Best Lawyers for her project finance expertise.
Yannis Samothrakis joins Fidal’s Insurance team as a partner. He advises insurers, reinsurers and intermediaries on French and European legal and regulatory matters, including freedom to provide services, freedom of establishment and compliance issues for foreign companies seeking to begin activity or launch new products in France. He manages French and cross‑border corporate projects such as portfolio transfers, mergers, acquisitions and restructurings, with particular experience in the run‑off sector, and has extensive experience in designing complex insurance distribution schemes. He holds a CAPA from the École de Formation des Barreaux de la Cour d’Appel de Paris (2007), an MA in European Industrial Relations from Warwick Business School (1999), a Postgraduate Certificate in Law from Warwick University (1998) and a Maîtrise de Droit Privé from Université Lille II (1998).
