Bird & Bird bolsters Privacy & Data Protection team in Paris with associates Romain Perray and Lorraine Maisnier-Boché

Romain Perray joins Bird & Bird as an associate with 21 years of practice at the Paris Bar. He is specialised in Privacy & Data Protection and advises across the full spectrum of data protection and data security issues for clients in the automotive, adtech, life sciences, insurance, e‑commerce, leisure, social networks and public sectors, including smart city projects. His work covers multi‑jurisdictional strategies for cross‑border data transfers (including global intra‑group transfer frameworks), controller/processor and processor/sub‑processor agreements, privacy and cookie policies, and the use of personal data for marketing and profiling in Big Data contexts. He has conducted numerous data protection impact assessments (including in cases of pseudonymisation or anonymisation) and international compliance audits to ensure conformity with European and national requirements. Romain also advises on the European Data Act, open data issues and cybersecurity matters, including incident response and NIS2 and DORA compliance programmes. He is a lecturer in privacy and data protection law at several universities and the author of academic publications.
Lorraine Maisnier‑Boché joins Bird & Bird as an associate after 15 years of experience in data protection, e‑commerce, cybersecurity and information technology law. She works principally for clients in the life sciences, insurance and adtech sectors. Lorraine regularly advises medtech and biotech companies, digital health providers, medical device manufacturers, health professionals, cosmetics companies, insurers and advertising data brokers on data protection, cybersecurity and IT law matters. She has served as Senior Legal Counsel (Juriste Senior) at the Agence du Numérique en Santé (ANS) and previously began her legal career at Bird & Bird. Lorraine is also a lecturer in data protection law, a published author on digital, data protection and digital health law topics, a board member of the Association pour le Développement de l'Informatique Juridique (ADIJ), an associated researcher at the Institut de Recherche Juridique « Droit et Santé » and holds the CIPP/E certification.
