Morgan Lewis strengthens Paris investigations and compliance team with five hires

Marie-Agnès Nicolas joins Morgan Lewis as a partner from Hughes Hubbard & Reed. She advises international groups in both advisory and defence capacities on complex, multijurisdictional matters including economic sanctions, corruption and corporate social responsibility. Her practice encompasses internal investigations, regulatory inspections, the design and strengthening of compliance programmes, due diligence (including in M&A), risk mapping and audits. She has specific expertise on questions raised by the French blocking statute and also advises banks and financial institutions on complex litigation relating to investment products. Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, she spent more than 15 years at Hughes Hubbard & Reed, where she progressed through roles as collaborator, counsel and then associate and worked primarily from Paris and on secondment in Washington, D.C.
Anne Gaustad-Hanken joins Morgan Lewis as a partner from Hughes Hubbard & Reed. She advises international clients on economic sanctions, export controls, corruption, human rights and governance, and represents organisations facing multijurisdictional investigations and regulatory proceedings before US and European authorities, multilateral development banks and other international institutions. Her work includes developing compliance programmes, conducting internal and regulatory investigations, third‑party due diligence and risk mapping. Before joining Morgan Lewis she spent more than 13 years at Hughes Hubbard & Reed in Paris and Washington, D.C., where she held roles including International Specialist, collaborator and associate; she has also worked at Advokatfirmaet Schjødt in Oslo and WilmerHale in London and began her career at the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
Mathieu Rossignol joins Morgan Lewis’s Paris office as of counsel from Hughes Hubbard. The press release lists him as part of the five‑lawyer team strengthening the firm’s investigations and compliance capabilities.
