DLA Piper strengthens Restructuring and Special Situations with Sophie Stevens joining as counsel

A legal professional with more than twenty years of experience, Sophie Stevens has for many years served as a Commissaire de justice (formerly bailiff), working first as an associate and subsequently as a leader in Paris. She joins DLA Piper as counsel and brings recognised expertise in handling high-stakes economic and procedural matters, with a particular focus on execution, enforcement and the operational implementation of contentious strategies.
Her practice concentrates on crisis management, strategic litigation and pre-insolvency matters, with an emphasis on the design and effective execution of restructuring strategies. She advises companies and their directors both upstream of disputes and in complex proceedings or crisis situations, paying particular attention to enforcement, securing positions and negotiation phases. Her work also encompasses pre-litigation, the drafting of transactional protocols and overall management of litigation risk. She regularly handles matters involving financial creditors, funds, banks and investors, working closely with lawyers, administrators and judicial representatives.
Sophie Stevens holds a Master 2 in business law, taxation and company management (INSEEC), a maîtrise in European law (Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas) and completed a regulated professional training in procedure and enforcement delivered by the École nationale de procédure / INCJ.
