Crowell & Moring Brussels welcomes Lauren Cuyvers as partner in Privacy & Cybersecurity

Cuyvers’s practice focuses on international mandates related to incident management, regulatory compliance and litigation in data protection, digital regulation and cybersecurity within the EU. She advises clients across sectors including aviation, energy and life sciences, with particular emphasis on the technology sector, having worked for major global companies in social media, cloud computing, data centres, medical technologies, software and semiconductors. Her work spans key legislative initiatives such as the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), NIS2, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the ePrivacy directive, the AI Regulation, the Data Act and the European Health Data Space (EHDS). She is the third recruit to the Brussels office in the last six months and the fourth partner to join Crowell’s Privacy & Cybersecurity group in the past year.
At Crowell & Moring, Cuyvers will support clients across complex EU digital regulatory frameworks with a focus on regulatory risk and strategy, high‑stakes regulatory investigations, crisis and incident management, and cybersecurity certification work.
Cuyvers joins Crowell from Sidley Austin, where she distinguished herself on large‑scale incident response matters, including cases involving the GDPR, NIS2 and DORA, and provided strategic advice on emerging legislation such as the Cyber Resilience Act, as well as on data‑intensive transactions.
Firm leaders welcomed her arrival, noting that her experience in digital regulation and cybersecurity will strengthen Crowell’s ability to provide cutting‑edge, integrated advice on privacy, cybersecurity and technology matters.
