DLA Piper strengthens its transactional tax practice with Clémence Morel
"DLA Piper hires Clémence Morel as counsel in Paris to bolster its transactional tax practice, focusing on private equity, M&A, restructurings and management packages."
Morel specialises in the tax aspects of private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings and management packages. She has more than eight years of experience gained in France and internationally, advising investment funds, industrial groups and innovative companies on tax issues related to strategic and structuring operations. She has recently worked on significant transactions involving complex tax structuring for both sponsors and management teams, and has advised on matters across key sectors for the firm including technology, health, industry and private equity for French and foreign funds, notably American funds. She holds a Master 2 in Corporate Tax from Université Paris Dauphine and is a member of the Institut des Avocats Conseils Fiscaux (IACF).
Morel joins DLA Piper from an international law firm of reference, where she intervened on numerous private equity deals. She enters DLA Piper with the seniority of counsel.
Raphaël Béra, partner and head of the tax department in Paris, said Morel’s experience in private equity (mid cap/large cap) and her understanding of the tax issues faced by investors and management teams are real assets for the firm’s clients, notably on matters involving the United States or cross-border investments. Fanny Combourieu, country managing partner of DLA Piper Paris, added that Morel’s arrival fits the firm’s strategy to strengthen its transactional teams in Paris and internationally and reinforces its position on M&A and private equity operations.
