Gide appoints three new counsels in Paris, London and Warsaw

Matthieu Herviaux joined Gide’s Finance LBO team in Paris on 1 June as Counsel, working alongside partners Eric Cartier-Millon and Nathalie Benoit. He specializes in acquisition financing, in particular private equity and leveraged buy-outs (LBOs), advising investment funds, banks and debt funds on LBO financings, refinancings and complex financial restructurings, and advising companies under LBO on external growth financings and refinancings. He has recently acted for sponsors and lenders on a number of LBO and refinancing transactions. Before joining Gide, Matthieu worked for eight years in the Finance department of Latham & Watkins in Paris. He holds a Master II D.J.C.E. in International Business Law from Aix‑Marseille University and a Diploma in Common Law from University College Cork, and has been admitted to the Paris Bar since 2018.
Sarah Gabbai joined Gide’s tax team in London on 18 May as Counsel and heads the UK tax practice of the London office, working alongside Dimitrios Logizidis, the partner responsible for Banking and Structured Finance in London. Her practice focuses on UK and international tax, with a particular emphasis on cross-border transactions and investments. She advises on UK tax aspects of financings, securities offerings, securitisations and fund structures, and assists multinationals, private equity funds, financial institutions, fund managers and investors on UK and international tax issues relating to reorganisations, corporate and financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions and employee share incentive arrangements. She holds a degree from the University of Cambridge (King’s College), an LLM in Taxation from King’s College London, is a solicitor, a member of the California Bar and of the UK Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT).
Łukasz Jeśkiewicz joined Gide’s Warsaw teams on 1 June as Counsel, alongside partner Dariusz Tokarczuk. He is specialised in tax advice, notably on mergers and acquisitions and international tax, and has recognised expertise in transactional advice to financial and strategic investors. He also has solid experience in international accounting standards and management accounting, and supports clients in complex tax audits and control proceedings as well as in approval procedures with the tax authorities. He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw and the Centre for British and European Law, is a certified tax advisor and a member of the ACCA (FCCA). He has been a lawyer in Warsaw since 2006.
