Kepler-Karst appoints Pedro Colina as head of Economic Criminal Law

Colina brings more than three decades of experience in economic criminal law in Spain. His practice focuses on economic crime and corporate compliance. He joins Kepler-Karst as a partner leading the Economic Criminal Law practice and comes from Bufete Choclán, where he built his career in those fields.
His work has included participation in several high-profile criminal cases and notable experience in jury trials, a procedural area uncommon among specialists in economic crime. His litigation background spans all judicial instances, from ordinary courts to the Supreme Court and the European Court of Human Rights. He also combines his practice with academic activity as a professor of Criminal Law at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and as an instructor in several postgraduate programmes for bar admission.
Kepler-Karst’s team has handled complex and high-visibility proceedings, including securing the acquittal of businessman Pedro Trapote in a tax fraud case and representing former regional minister Salomé Pradas in proceedings related to the Valencia flooding (DANA). The firm said the hire responds to growing demand for specialised criminal defence advice amid more sophisticated corporate investigations and tighter compliance regulation.
