Auren strengthens Public and Regulatory practice with Elena Michelena and Jordi Bonet
"Auren Legal in Barcelona has hired Elena Michelena (partner) and Jordi Bonet (of counsel) to lead its Public and Regulatory Law practice, focusing on public law, urban planning, environmental and regulatory matters."
Elena Michelena has more than 25 years of experience in Public Law, regulation and public procurement. She has advised public administrations, publicly owned entities and companies in highly regulated sectors on tender processes, regulatory adaptation and compliance, with a focus on public procurement, urban planning, environmental law and sector-specific regulation. Michelena holds a law degree from the University of Barcelona and has held leadership positions at firms including Garrigues and Uría Menéndez, in addition to founding her own boutique firm. Before joining Auren, she was partner of the Public and Regulatory Law area at Écija.
Jordi Bonet has experience in Public and Administrative Law, with a particular focus on urban planning, infrastructure, environmental matters and territorial planning. He has advised public and private entities on projects with significant territorial impact, primarily in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, and has solid experience in urban planning, licensing procedures, administrative processes and contentious-administrative litigation. Bonet has combined legal practice with institutional responsibilities, including participation in governing bodies of public and private institutions, and was part of the Commission of Experts tasked with defining Catalonia’s territorial and administrative organisation model. He joins Auren from Écija as of counsel.
