ArentFox Schiff Adds Partner Cynthia Brittain to Los Angeles Private Clients, Trusts & Estates Practice

Brittain brings more than 25 years of experience advising high-net-worth multinational families, individuals, and global companies on complex cross-border tax and estate planning matters. Her work encompasses pre-immigration planning, international corporate tax, and international and domestic wealth and asset transfer. She is particularly adept at advising on the interplay of tax regimes for international high-net-worth clients and has extensive experience with cross-border regulatory laws affecting US domestic planning and with US tax compliance under voluntary disclosure regimes. Brittain also assists clients with complicated disclosure rules related to ownership of foreign entities and foreign financial accounts, and provides guidance to financial institutions and corporate trustees working with international clients.
Brittain joins ArentFox Schiff from Holland & Knight LLP, where she was a partner in the Private Wealth Services Group. Her arrival expands the PCTE group’s capabilities in the international estate planning space. She is also a frequent speaker on international estate and tax planning, serves as an adjunct professor teaching International Estate Planning at California State University – Northridge, and holds an LLM in taxation from the University of San Diego, a JD from California Western School of Law, and a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
