Kirkland & Ellis Adds Leading State Attorneys General Litigator Prerak Shah as Partner

Mr. Shah is a leading state attorneys general litigator who advises companies and executives facing investigations, enforcement actions and high-stakes litigation involving state attorneys general. He also represents clients in federal, congressional and internal investigations, as well as other complex civil disputes.
He has held senior roles across state and federal government, including serving as Senior Counsel to the Attorney General of Texas, Chief of Staff and Chief Counsel to U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, and Acting U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas. He has supervised landmark litigation and enforcement actions, overseen sensitive investigations and crafted legal strategy in cases with nationwide impact.
Mr. Shah joins Kirkland from Gibson Dunn, where he founded and co-chaired the firm’s State Attorneys General Practice Group.
