DLA Piper adds partner Eric Bruce to bolster global investigations and litigation platform
"DLA Piper hires Eric Bruce as Partner in its White Collar Crime, Investigations and Government Enforcement practice to strengthen global investigations and litigation, focusing on FCPA, sanctions, AML and ATA matters."
Bruce advises global corporations, boards of directors, and senior executives on complex cross-border regulatory, enforcement, and litigation matters. He has extensive experience handling Foreign Corrupt Practices Act allegations, sanctions and export controls, money laundering, securities fraud, antitrust violations, terrorist financing, False Claims Act matters, and complex civil litigation under the US Anti-Terrorism Act. He advises clients on risk assessments and strengthening internal controls to address emerging threats, and his work frequently spans Latin America and other key markets.
Bruce spent more than a decade as a federal prosecutor in the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York. He also served as Senior Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General for the Criminal Division and as Counselor to the US Attorney General at the Department of Justice. He is ranked Band 1 by Chambers for white collar crime defense and government investigations in the District of Columbia.
His arrival is presented by the firm as strengthening DLA Piper’s global investigations and enforcement platform, which the firm says comprises approximately 350 compliance and investigations lawyers and public affairs and communications professionals worldwide and more than 40 former US Attorneys, Assistant US Attorneys, and state Attorneys General. Bruce is the fourth partner to join the investigations team in Washington, DC in the past 18 months.
