Browne Jacobson appoints Paul Duggan as Partner to strengthen banking and finance practice

"Browne Jacobson has appointed Paul Duggan as a Partner in its banking and finance practice. He will work on debt finance transactions, including acquisitions, management buy-outs and refinancings."

Paul Duggan has joined Browne Jacobson as a Partner in the firm’s banking and finance practice.

Paul brings significant experience advising on a wide range of debt finance transactions, with a particular focus on acquisitions, management buy-outs and refinancings. He acts for banks and lenders, corporate borrowers, sponsors and private equity houses, as well as not-for-profit organisations and public sector bodies. He joins Browne Jacobson as a Partner, enhancing the firm’s ability to advise clients across the full spectrum of banking and finance matters on a national basis and complementing the firm’s established full-service offering across its UK and island of Ireland offices.

Paul said he was attracted by the firm’s investment in its banking and finance practice and by the opportunity to bring commercial banking and finance advice to clients across Wales and the wider UK. Shaun McCabe, joint Head of the Banking and Finance team, described the appointment as significant for the team and said Duggan’s technical and commercial qualities align with client needs.

Paul’s appointment brings Browne Jacobson’s lateral partner recruitment to 15 across its UK and Ireland network, spanning a broad range of practice areas and sectors. Other recent appointments include Simone Ketchell and Matthew Kenwood (Real Estate), Marie-Claire Scullion (Head of Employment in Ireland), Bethan Parry (Health and Litigation), Colette Withey (Commercial and Technology), Antony Woodhouse (Insurance), Christian Major (Real Estate), Philip James (Data and Technology), Adam Culy and Adam Berry (Financial and Professional Risks), Chris Holder (Commercial, Technology and Life Sciences) and Bernhard Maier (Head of Arbitration).

These appointments underpin the firm’s broader growth strategy of operating at the forefront of society’s biggest issues and bringing together multidisciplinary expertise to deliver solutions for clients.
