Barnes & Thornburg Adds 12-Lawyer Healthcare Team to Raleigh Office

Kelsey U. Jernigan joins Barnes & Thornburg as director of healthcare regulatory services. She and John H. Lawrence join from K&L Gates, where they served as partners and led that firm’s healthcare practice. At Barnes & Thornburg, Lawrence will serve as managing partner of the Raleigh office.
The other members of the team join Barnes & Thornburg as partners — Jared M. Burtner, Nathan A. Huff, Carolyn F. Merritt, McNair Nichols and Rebecca M. Schaefer — and as associates — Christian Flemming and Michael Phillips. The group joins from K&L Gates and will bolster Barnes & Thornburg’s Healthcare Industry practice, expanding the firm’s capabilities in healthcare regulatory and compliance, data privacy, clinical research, transactional matters and False Claims Act defense while representing hospitals, health systems, academic medical centers, physician groups, laboratories, pharmaceutical companies and other healthcare organizations navigating a complex regulatory landscape.
