Simmons & Simmons hires asset management and funds partner Jim McNally in London

He joins from McDermott Will & Schulte, where he was a partner for 14 years. Jim advises on corporate advisory and transactional matters for asset managers and alternative investment funds, with a particular focus on asset manager M&A and corporate advisory, private fund arrangements and shareholder activism. His experience also encompasses private equity and venture capital fundraisings, secondary fund transactions, fund restructurings and carried interest arrangements. Having operated in the asset management and investment funds sector for over two decades, he has been instrumental in delivering some of the highest-profile asset manager M&A deals in the London market and is recognised as a Band 1 lawyer.
His hire will further enhance Simmons & Simmons' AMIF advisory and asset manager M&A expertise and adds private funds capabilities as the firm responds to growing demand from clients and the market. He holds multiple longstanding client relationships and will leverage the firm's international network and sector-focused platform to secure new opportunities.
