Norton Rose Fulbright appoints Kate Jefferson as Asia Pacific corporate partner in Sydney

Jefferson is a senior transactional law partner with more than 20 years' experience advising clients on high-profile, cross-border M&A and capital markets transactions in Australia and the Asia Pacific. Her experience encompasses private and public M&A, joint ventures, carve-outs, reorganisations, equity capital raisings and Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) governance requirements. She has a particular focus on supporting clients in the life sciences and healthcare, technology and consumer markets industries.
She joins Norton Rose Fulbright from global law firm Baker McKenzie, where she was co-head of the Australian healthcare and life sciences group and a member of the firm’s Asia Pacific healthcare and life sciences steering committee.
Her appointment follows the addition of partner Daniel Lin in May this year (working across Sydney and Tokyo) and forms part of broader recent hires and promotions in Norton Rose Fulbright’s Australia practice, including the appointments of Brad Robinson (banking and finance, Melbourne) in January 2026, Michael Gajic and Ashley Rose (public M&A and equity capital markets, Sydney) in June 2025, and Kristina Mihalic (government, Canberra) in February 2025, together with partner promotions effective 1 January 2026 of Adele Gray (banking and finance, Melbourne), Fridoun Chee (corporate, M&A and securities, Sydney), Jiadi Liang and Veronica Seeto (government, Canberra), Daniel Posker (intellectual property, Sydney) and Jeremy Moller (risk advisory, Sydney).
