Baker Botts Adds International Arbitration Partner Katie Chung in Singapore

"Baker Botts hires Katie Chung as partner in Singapore to strengthen its international arbitration practice handling complex disputes in energy, aviation, financial services, infrastructure, technology and telecoms."

Katie Chung has joined Baker Botts L.L.P. as a partner in the firm's Litigation Department in Singapore.

Chung brings close to 20 years of experience advising and representing clients in high-stakes, Asia-related international arbitrations conducted under all major arbitration rules. Her practice focuses on complex, high-value, multi-jurisdictional disputes across energy, aviation, financial services, infrastructure, technology and telecoms. She joins Baker Botts in Singapore as a partner in the Litigation Department.

In addition to her counsel work, Chung regularly sits as an arbitrator in ICC, SIAC and HKIAC proceedings seated in Singapore and Hong Kong, and that tribunal experience informs her advocacy in sophisticated international matters. She is a Delegate of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR, a member of the AAA-ICDR Singapore Committee, serves on the executive committee of the Asia-Pacific Forum for International Arbitration, contributes to the IBA Task Force on "The Nationality of the Arbitrator as a Proxy for Independence and Impartiality," and is a member of the Singapore Branch of the International Law Association.

Her appointment furthers Baker Botts’ strategy to build a premier international arbitration practice anchored in London, New York, Washington D.C., Houston, Dubai and Singapore, enhancing the Firm’s disputes platform and its capability to serve clients across Asia.
