Baker Botts Strengthens Transatlantic Disputes Practices with Hires in London and Washington

Nash Long joins Baker Botts as a partner in Washington, D.C. He is an environmental trial lawyer with more than 20 years of experience leading trials, arbitrations, enforcement proceedings, and appellate challenges nationwide. Long represents energy and industrial companies in environmental enforcement actions, regulatory challenges, toxic tort cases, and commercial disputes, and defends clients in actions under the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act. He also challenges agency rulemaking before federal appellate courts, serves as first-chair counsel in toxic tort, class action, and commercial litigation, and has represented clients in matters involving billions of dollars in dispute. Long joins Baker Botts from Hunton Andrews Kurth. He recently became Chair-Elect of the American Bar Association’s Litigation Section following a term as Vice Chair and edited the ABA book Trying Your First Case: A Practitioner’s Guide.
Kathleen Fox Murphy joins Baker Botts as a partner in London. She is a patent litigator with more than 25 years of experience spanning the life sciences and technology sectors. Fox Murphy represents clients in multi-jurisdictional patent litigation, including matters involving standard essential patents and FRAND licensing, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and medical devices. Her practice covers infringement and validity disputes, interim injunctions, multi-jurisdictional litigation strategy, and competition law issues; she has represented clients before the UK High Court, Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court and has assisted clients in proceedings before the Unified Patent Court. Her work spans telecommunications and information technology as well as life sciences. Fox Murphy joins Baker Botts from EIP and has been recognized as a Patent Star by IP Stars, named a WIPR Leader, and recommended by IAM Patent 1000 and JUVE Patent UK.
