Veirano adds Paulo Macedo Garcia as partner

Paulo Macedo Garcia joins Veirano as a partner in the Dispute Resolution practice, based in São Paulo. He has spent his career handling arbitration and litigation matters in Brazil and internationally and has represented clients in disputes spanning infrastructure, insurance, sanitation, healthcare, franchising, education, agrochemicals, pulp and paper, mining, as well as corporate and commercial arbitrations. He previously served as a clerk to justices at Brazil’s Superior Court of Justice (STJ) and Federal Supreme Court (STF). Macedo Garcia returns to Veirano, having worked at the firm between 2011 and 2012. He holds an LL.B., LL.M. and Ph.D. in Law from the University of São Paulo (USP) and an LL.M. from Columbia University School of Law. He currently serves as a director of the Brazilian Arbitration Committee (CBAr) and is listed as an arbitrator with the Center for Arbitration and Mediation of the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (CAM-CCBC) and the Brazilian Center for Mediation and Arbitration (CAMARB).
Thiago Martins has joined Veirano’s Dispute Resolution practice as an Associate, and Luisa Saboya has joined the same practice as a Mid-Level Associate.
