Megan Jones Joins Holland & Knight as Partner in Global Wealth and Family Office Practice Group in Century City

Ms. Jones was previously a shareholder at Vedder. She joins Holland & Knight as a partner and focuses on tax matters for individuals, family offices and businesses. Her practice encompasses tax-efficient entity structuring, partnership and digital asset planning, and guidance through pre- and post-liquidity events. She advises startups, founders and established businesses on tax issues related to investments, cross-border mergers and acquisitions and going public, and assists clients in managing complex holdings, private capital and multijurisdictional structures, as well as domestic and international tax compliance, tax minimization and wealth preservation strategies.
Ms. Jones is experienced in the technology and energy sectors and advises on energy taxes and credits and novel tax considerations involving emerging technologies, including digital assets, blockchain technology and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). She also brings business-side experience from prior roles as a management consultant and investment banker with International Business Strategies, Lazard Freres & Co. and Needham & Company.
Ms. Jones received J.D. and LL.M. degrees from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, and a B.S. from Pepperdine University. She is a member of the American Bar Association Digital Asset Tax Task Force, is admitted to practice in California, the District of Columbia, New York, Texas and Wyoming, and is a California Certified Income Tax Specialist.
