WFaria Advogados appoints Fernando Retzler Martins as partner to lead Wealth Planning
"WFaria Advogados has appointed Fernando Retzler Martins as partner to head its Wealth Planning practice, focusing on wealth management, succession and domestic and international tax and estate planning."
An accountant by training who also holds a law degree, Retzler Martins has more than 25 years advising families, entrepreneurs, investors and companies on domestic and international tax matters, estate and succession planning, offshore structures, trusts, family governance, corporate reorganizations and pre- and post-immigration planning. He holds a law degree from the Universidade de Sao Paulo (USP), a postgraduate degree in Business Administration from Fundacao Getulio Vargas (FGV/SP), and is a certified Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) granted by the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
Over the course of his career, he was a partner at KPMG for 12 years, including a two-year posting in Germany where he headed the firm’s Brazilian Desk, and later held partner roles at Grant Thornton and at Brazilian law firms, gaining experience in domestic and cross-border wealth and tax planning projects. He currently serves as vice president of the Special Commission on Succession Planning and Holdings of the Sao Paulo Bar Association (OAB/SP).
