Debevoise & Plimpton LLP Expands Real Estate Credit and Private Lending Capabilities with Addition of Partner Daniel Kasell

Mr. Kasell’s practice focuses on commercial real estate finance, credit investments, private equity real estate transactions, fund formation and distressed real estate matters. He advises institutional real estate investors, lenders and credit platforms across the full investment lifecycle. He joins Debevoise as a partner, bolstering the firm’s real estate credit and private lending capabilities while supplementing its equity practice.
Mr. Kasell joins Debevoise from TPG Real Estate Credit, where he served as Senior Advisor. Prior to that, he spent more than a decade at Square Mile Capital Management, ultimately serving as Chief Legal Officer, and earlier in his career he practiced at another international law firm. He holds a J.D., magna cum laude and Order of the Coif, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, a B.A. from Cornell University, and a Certificate in Real Estate Finance and Investment from NYU’s Schack Institute of Real Estate.
