Morrison Foerster Welcomes Annie Wartanian Reisinger as National Security Partner

Reisinger brings more than two decades of experience in national security law and international trade regulation and spent the past seven years in senior legal roles at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. At Treasury she served as Senior Counsel in the Office of the General Counsel and was one of the few attorneys to serve as Co-Lead Counsel for the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). In that capacity she played a central role in shaping CFIUS jurisdictional practice following the expanded mandate under FIRRMA, was charged with clearance authority for all CFIUS mitigation instruments and orders, and served as a legal advisor to Treasury and CFIUS interagency leadership. Her Treasury responsibilities also included managing presidential referrals, helping lead development of the Known Investor Program, shaping legal aspects of non-notified enforcement and compliance across multiple administrations, advising on regulatory rulemaking, and providing technical assistance on legislation. Reisinger also has deep experience with export controls and sanctions issues that arise in the context of cross-border investments.
Prior to joining Treasury, Reisinger practiced at leading law firms and served as Director of Export Compliance at one of the world’s largest aerospace and defense suppliers, where she led that company’s global export compliance program.
