Baker Donelson Welcomes Bankruptcy Shareholder Sean B. Davis to Houston Office

Mr. Davis focuses on commercial bankruptcy and restructuring matters, representing lenders, vendors, buyers, secured and unsecured creditors, debtor-in-possession lenders, financial institutions, bondholders, noteholders, lessors, CMBS servicers, purchasers, and trade creditors in foreclosure, workout, and insolvency matters both out of court and before state, federal, and bankruptcy courts.
His practice spans a broad range of industries, including construction, financial services, equipment and vehicle leasing and finance, food service, health care, livestock, manufacturing, maritime, oil and gas, and real estate. He has been involved in numerous energy restructurings, regularly represents pre- and post-petition lenders in single-asset real estate and operating company bankruptcies and related guarantor liability litigation, and advises equipment lessors, vendors, and contractors in reorganizations of construction and health care companies.
Mr. Davis joins Baker Donelson as a shareholder. He previously practiced with Winstead PC and is licensed to practice in Texas and New York. A graduate of Cornell Law School and Rice University, he is recognized in The Best Lawyers in America for Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law (2024–2026) and in Texas Super Lawyers for Bankruptcy (2025–2026). He was selected to The National Black Lawyers Texas "Top 100" list (2024) and its Texas "Top 40 Under 40" list (2020). Mr. Davis is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Turnaround Management Association Houston, and the Southwest Association of Bank Counsel, and is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, the Texas Bar Foundation, and the Houston Bar Foundation.
