Kirkland & Ellis Adds Mass Tort Restructuring Partners Dan Prieto and Amanda Rush in Dallas

Dan Prieto and Amanda Rush have joined Kirkland & Ellis as partners and will be the first members of the Firm’s Restructuring Group based in Dallas.

Dan Prieto is known for designing and implementing strategies to address mass-tort liabilities, including numerous matters involving asbestos and talc claims. He advises companies and other stakeholders on complex Chapter 11 reorganizations, out-of-court restructurings and distressed M&A transactions. He has played a leading role in numerous high-profile bankruptcy matters and is described as one of the most experienced lawyers in the country for asbestos and other mass tort claims resolution processes in Chapter 11. Prieto joins Kirkland & Ellis as a partner from Jones Day, where he was a partner.

Amanda Rush has significant experience resolving legacy liabilities, including asbestos and talc claims. She advises clients on complex restructuring and insolvency matters, including Chapter 11 cases, out-of-court restructurings, cross-border insolvencies and distressed M&A transactions, and has represented companies across industries including energy, retail, chemicals and technology. Rush joins Kirkland & Ellis as a partner from Jones Day, where she was a partner.
