Norton Rose Fulbright appoints John Boelter as Chicago M&A partner

John represents private and public companies, financial institutions, funds and investors on high-profile domestic and cross-border initiatives, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, financings and joint ventures. His practice serves clients across sectors including life sciences and pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, industrial, technology, sports, media and entertainment, and financial services.
He joins Norton Rose Fulbright’s US team of more than 400 partners and 700 deal lawyers, becoming the firm’s twelfth US lateral partner in 2026. His arrival also reflects the firm’s continued expansion in Chicago, where he is the sixth transactions-focused partner to join the office in the last 18 months.
Coming from Mayer Brown, John handles strategic, venture and private equity investments, financings, mergers, stock and asset acquisitions and dispositions, recapitalizations and reorganizations. He is known for working closely with senior executives and boards on transaction strategy and on matters that involve both corporate and regulatory considerations. John is licensed in Illinois and earned his law degree and bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota.
